Recorded on July 6, 2012
In which we discuss everything from Korean/Chinese weddings customs, the trials of language learning, homosexuality in South Korea (complete with frisky court ladies), to Big Bang werewolf pack dynamics (blame Teen Wolf, okay?).
IMPORTANT NOTE! We were talking very quickly and accidentally said Korean entertainer Harisu is a transvestite. As we are informed by the GLADD Media Reference Guide, that label has derogatory connotations and a more proper term is transgender/transsexual. We didn’t catch it until editing, and hope you accept our sincerest apologies for the mistake.

(Watches the trailer, then flails) Yes, please, talk more about this drama.
I might watch it for the lulz. Keyword being “might”.

kar0shi said: Not really an ask, you guys replied to my message FOREVER ago and then I kind of sort of ditched tumblr, and never got to reply. You guys are fantastic, and I'm glad you guys are both ok (apparently you were sick?). Hwaiting~ Btw, are you guys still teaching? Because I know some people decide to stop?
We’re both healthy now but we’re sort of dying in the humid Korean heat. Poor M has no air con in her apartment DDDD:
I won’t be leaving until February 2013 (when my contract expires) and M is leaving in September. We’re well-aware that the long distance will make podcasting more difficult and are researching ways to record on Skype. If possible, we would both like to continue podcasting.
Thanks for the message!

For what you've said before, I understand that she's a huge music figure in Korea, but I know next to nothing about her and her career. Could you explain it a bit in one of your next podcasts? Thank you! :)
This can be done and we’ll put it on our to-do list for Episode 10 :D We have no problem hailing Queen Boa.

Anonymous said: okay so your podcast is AMAZING. I listened to the SHINee-sode on my way to work this morning and was giggling so hard on the train by myself and all the people sitting next to me were like o.0 ANYWAY. Thanks for such fun entertainment! (p.s. what are your opinions on Sexy, Free and Single?)
Thank you very much for the kinds words. Jongho bro hug~<3

We talk about “Sexy, Free, and Single” in Episode 8 which is still in editing. Our review is pretty positive with a side of what-the-fuck. In essence: K-pop.

Thank you! We just got our tickets, so we are very much excited. I have a few students going as well, so K-POP FIELD TRIP.
M doesn’t have much interest in that drama. I, on the other hand, love Minho too much to watch him act. I’ll probably just reblog gifs of his beautiful black hair (just give him a baby, SM).
We can talk about this drama more in a podcast, if you’d like. Thanks for messaging us!

First of all, we have 3 episodes backed up that are still in editing (SO SORRY FOR THE DELAY GUYS, BUT THEY’RE GOOD ONES, I SWEAR). I am working frantically to upload them all before the week ends.
Another thing is that the little message notification marker on the inbox icon stopped appearing for some reason, so I haven’t been checking the inbox because I thought we didn’t have any messages. Well, apparently that was just tumblr being an ass. So if you’ve messaged us and we didn’t get back to you, SO SORRY. We will be more diligent about checking messages in the future.

I don’t usually do this, but I just saw a qipao get blogged as a “Traditional Korean Dress”.
I’ve been noticing that I’ve been getting more followers who are into K-pop as opposed to Gleeks or Supernatural fans who were my primary base back when I started this blog (high-fives on the astral…
^This is reblogged from my personal tumblr. I’m still editing the last two episodes, but if you have burning questions about South Korea that you want answered before our next podcast, drop them in my askbox over there.
